Episode 205

The Avery Trial: Episode 21 - Touching Evidence? No Problem.

In this episode of Beach House 34, we hear the testimony of William Brandes, a volunteer firefighter who discovered Teresa Halbach’s missing license plates, and Trooper Cindy Paine, who confirmed that they were in fact, Teresa's plates.

Brandes admits to picking up the plates, which were folded. Then he unfolded them and read the number —before law enforcement secured the scene. He was wearing his own personal gloves, not department-issued ones, which matters. Meanwhile, law enforcement stood by and let it happen. No objection. No intervention.

What’s even more shocking? The defense barely pushed back when it came for their time to question him. And when it was the defense's turn to question Paine? They didn't ask her one.single.question.

How does that happen in a high-profile murder trial?
